Biography:
Yulu hails from Weifang, China. She received her MD degree in Medicine (Radiology) at Shandong University, where she was supervised by Prof. Guangbin Wang. Yulu’s doctoral thesis centered on measuring GABA levels in the brainstem of Parkinson’s disease using edited MRS.
Yulu now works in Richard Edden’s Lab at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. As part of her research here, she also works with Stewart H. Mostofsky investigating the role of GSH in neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder. To understand the link between these abnormalities and GSH, she uses MRS and functional MRI(tactile) approaches.
